The blessing which was held on Wednesday 7th December 2011 at their funeral home at 142 Finchampstead Road, Wokingham was led by Father Peter Day of St Paul’s Wokingham.

Reverend Day commented “It was a pleasure to be asked to bless the Christmas tree at J B Hall Funeral Directors. This is the first year without their loved ones, and this gives us the opportunity to join together with the families to offer support and comfort in this difficult time leading up to the Christmas holidays”.

Funeral Co-ordinator’s Linda Lawton and Michelle Little both added “It was a privilege to offer this blessing, where the families were given the opportunity to place a star on our Christmas tree with their personal message, to remember their loved ones.”

The Christmas trees will now remain within the reception area of the funeral home in Wokingham until after the festive season.

Clients, their families and friends from the past year will be invited to attend and place personal message cards on the tree in memory of their loved ones.

The blessing was led by Reverend David Hamblin of Cross Church, Camberley. Clients who attended the service were invited to place personal messages and memory cards onto the tree.

Reverend Hamblin commented “I was delighted to see a number of J B Halls clients attend their blessing and hang their memorial stars onto the tree during a short service of remembrance and blessing thus helping them in their grieving.”

The team at J B Hall including Funeral Co-ordinator Linda Lawton commented “It was a pleasure to be able to invite our families back into our funeral home to attend our blessing service and place their memorial cards onto our tree. At this time of year, it is important to remember the loved ones whom we have lost, and I was delighted to be able to organise this special service for our many families.

Whilst arranging funerals for families in the Wokingham area, Linda also studies part-time for a degree in funeral services at the University of Bath. Linda concluded “I was really honoured to be chosen to be one of the first students to study for a foundation degree in Funeral Services at the University of Bath. The course covers a whole range of subjects including the history of the funeral trade, through to how to help with the grieving and bereaved; all of which enables me to give a premier funeral service to our many families.”
